Since May 23 RA Police is making amendments in the policy of traffic offenses administrative liability.
Namely guided by article 21 of Administrative Offense Code the offenders will be freed from administrative liability.
Meanwhile RA Police informs that they suggested the RA Ministry of Justice to mediate in the RA Government to come up with an initiative of adopting amnesty bill in the NA that will result in freezing the enforcement of 01.01.2012 to 31.12.201 administrative acts and penalties equaling 13,7 billion AMD will be cancelled.
During May 24 discussion at Media Center on “Not Fining Drivers for Some Offenses and Possible Effects and Consequences of Penalty Amnesty” Tigran Keyan, President of “Driver’s Friend” NGO noted that the approach of freeing drivers from administrative liability in case of revealing a number of administrative offenses through technical means should have been exercised long ago to avoid such a number of acts. The latter also added that approach will not significantly affect traffic regulation and safety.
