December 4, 12:00

December 3 marks the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. On this occasion, a discussion was held at Media Center on December 4 on the topic of “Issues of People with Disabilities in Armenia: International Commitments, Pre-Election Promises and Reality”.

Margarit Yesayan, Member of the NA Republican Party of Armenia faction, Member of the NA Standing Committee on Health and Social Affairs, Zara Batoyan, Member of the Yerevan Council Yelq faction, Chairman of “Disability” Info NGO, participated in the discussion.

Margarit Yesayan is convinced that there are many issues and concerns in the field of the protection of the rights of the disabled.

“No one can say that as a state and society we do not have things to do in this field and we fulfill our commitments to citizens. During these years, we have not been able to create not only external conditions for persons with disabilities, but also have not been able to develop relevant legislative initiatives to solve all the problems that today the disabled citizens of the Republic of Armenia face. This is definitely a minus score for all past and present authorities,” Yesayan said.
