The 3-year project that started in February 2020 isimplemented by the Coalition to Stop Violence against Women with the financial support of the European Union’s Instrument to promote Human Rights and Democracy (EIDHR).
During thepress conference Ambassador Andrea Viktorin, Head of EU Delegation in Armenia, and Zaruhi Hovhannisyan, Public Relations officer, Coalition to Stop Violence against Women, shared the importance of the project as well as key activities.
The project is designed to:
- improve the capacity of social supportcenters, health care institutions and local government staff onworking around domestic and gender-based violence issues
- conduct monitoring among the most vulnerable groups that are either at risk or victims of gender-based violence,
-develop legal and policy documents in cooperation with state bodies.
It has recently been agreed that women survivors of gender-based violence will receive support to overcomenegative consequences of COVID-19.
