“Access Right to Health Care in Armenia: Current Challenges, Obstacles and Ways of Overcoming”

Obstacles for universal access to health care in Armenia are first of all financial.
Representatives of the civil society stated this during the press conference dedicated to Universal Health Coverage Day at Media Center on December 12. 

“Our country, unfortunately, does not even try to fulfill that optimal obligation. States like ours are proposed to allocate 4-5% of GDP on healthcare, while our country now allocates 2% of GDP, and the government plans to reduce it to 1, 8%,” Hovhannes Madoyan, Head of“Human Rights House” Yerevan office said.

Madoyan underlines that the largest vulnerable group is more than a million people living below the poverty line and is deprived of that universal access.
